You Asked, I Answered

Dec 27, 2020

Last week I launched my company. In case you missed that news, you can read more about it here. In the days that followed you showed up well for me. You started asking questions about this big thing I was pushing. I couldn’t believe everyone was so excited for me and my dream…for the dreams of many to come. But you did. You cared. And you asked lots of questions. They helped me to clarify my own thoughts and direction on what all of this actually means. So, thank you. Thank you for believing in me and always having my back.

Below, I have summarized the best questions and ordered them into something like an interview. I hope they bring you as much joy and understanding into what you can expect from me in the days and months to come. If you get to the end, I left a couple of action steps for you that would mean the world to me. See you there…

A week ago, today, I launched my company and you decided to support me by asking some big questions:

Q: What did I launch?

A: I finally launched my dream.

Q: What is your dream?

A: My dream is to help other people discover their dream. To increase courage and empower them to chase that dream by equipping them with the necessary tools and resources.

Q: How do you plan to do that?

A: First, by providing free resources through my blog on a weekly basis. Once my audience can engage with my content in a way that moves them into acting, secondly, I will introduce them to my online instructional courses. From there, moving into a third phase of this launch, I will invite individuals into my one-on-one consulting services that will allow us to focus on their specific needs.

Q: Why do you feel like this is important?

A: I have lived my life in observation of both a people who have chased their dream with a kind of divine-force and a people who have sat idly by and settled for the life others had planned for them. The contrast between the joy these two groups experience is magnificent. I believe everyone deserves, and desires, the highest levels of joy in living out their dream. Some have just lost their way a little and I want to guide them back to that part of themselves.

Q: What do you need help with?

A: Right now, I don’t know how to find the specific people who need the skills and values I offer. I need to call on people who can help me find my target audience so that the most effort will be spent on the folks who are most prepared to move forward.

Q: What’s your next right-action?

A: As we said before, our goal is to “meet people where they are”. I realize that to do that, I need to speak and deliver my message in a way that meets my audience where they are. So right now, that means a weekly commitment to writing blogs and requesting help from my readers.

Q: What do you do with the people when you meet them where they are?

A: Well, I used to think the goal was to get them to where I am. But as I continue to develop as a person and a businessperson, I begin to understand people need help getting to where they need to go…and sometimes, most of the time, that place is not where I am. Instead, it’s somewhere entirely different. Disney just released a movie called Soul. Lead actor Jamie Foxx plays a piano teacher, Joe, who lives his entire life believing he has one purpose. Through a series of events, he finds himself coaching a young soul, 22, played by Tina Fey, to follow her passion. He obsesses over the idea that 22 needs to find her spark, her passion as he sees it, in music. Eventually, Joe discovers passions were never part of the plan…simply living life was the goal…and 22 had to discover her own appreciation for life, it could not be the same as Joe’s appreciation. So that. Meet people where they are, equip them, then take them where they need to go.

For now, I'm going to stop here and let us sit with what we're talking about. Big changes. That's what this feels like to me. Stay tuned for more updates because as I promised, you can expect a new post every week, right here.

I appreciate you giving your time to engage with this work, for yourself and for others we have yet to meet. If you noticed in the dialogue above, I need your help finding the people who need to connect with this work right now. As we grow together, my hope is to connect to people who need a little encouragement to chase their dream again.

Do you know anyone like that? Would you do me a favor and send this to them? You can shoot them a kind message and let them know you were thinking of them and include the link to this page so they can find this work regularly and get focused on their dream again.

Thank you, again, for believing in the dream.
